Desi Royals Community Services was founded in 2019 by Shilpesh Parikh, a dedicated community leader with a passion for bringing people together and creating meaningful change. As the founder and publisher of Gujarat Abroad, a local newspaper serving the Greater Toronto Area, Shilpesh spent years building strong relationships with residents, businesses, community organizations, and local leaders. Through his work in community journalism, he became a trusted voice within the community and gained a firsthand understanding of the challenges people faced, including newcomer settlement, social isolation, limited access to educational opportunities, health awareness, cultural programming, and community support.

Recognizing that many of these challenges could be addressed by creating stronger community connections, Shilpesh established Desi Royals Community Services with a simple vision: to create an organization where people of all ages and backgrounds feel welcomed, supported, and connected. What began as a grassroots initiative has grown into a registered nonprofit that delivers community events, educational workshops, cultural celebrations, volunteer opportunities, environmental initiatives, and programs for seniors, youth, women, newcomers, professionals, and families.

Drawing on the extensive network he built through Gujarat Abroad, Shilpesh has brought together community partners, local businesses, volunteers, elected officials, and organizations to support initiatives that make a real difference. His leadership is guided by collaboration, inclusion, and service, ensuring that every program reflects the evolving needs of the community while creating opportunities for people to connect, learn, and give back. Today, Desi Royals Community Services continues to grow as a trusted nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area, while remaining committed to its founding belief that strong communities are built when people come together with a shared purpose.
